Probably the best quarterback match up of the entire playoffs. You have Brett Farve, arguably one of the best quarterbacks of our time against Tony Romo, a QB looking to make his mark officially as one of the true elite in the NFL right now. Dallas won its first playoff game in 13 years after destroying the Eagles last week. Can Dallas continue the hot streak and bring another trophy to the heart of Texas? Or does Farve have one more round of magic to bring the Lombardi Trophy to the Blue and Gold? One thing is for certain…if the Vikings do not win the Super Bowl, the season is a complete failure.
Why the Vikings will win: Adrian Peterson and Percy Harvin are both big time playmakers. A big score by either of them could change the momentum in the Vikings’ favor. To fully win this game, they have to make sure Farve doesn’t have to do the majority of the work. Number Four is a great QB, but remember how old the man is…attack with the run…an Easy W.
Why the Cowboys will win: Everyone is talking about how it’s going to be Dallas’ offense…but it’s going to come down to the defense playing perfect football. DeMarcus Ware is a true warrior after being taken off the field on a stretcher merely a few weeks ago. Now, he’s playing with an intensity to hoist a trophy in February, and the rest of the D is playing that way as well…look for Dallas to pressure Farve to gun-sling the ball and make him make costly mistakes.
The True Factor: Which QB will show up for both sides? For Dallas, they want the hot Tony Romo that they have seen the past few weeks. He has quieted the critics slowly with each win. Can he keep it up? Or will the Romo that’s been in playoffs past show? For Minnesota, it’s either the Farve in the beginning of the year, or the Farve that has looked like his age.
Prediction: Dallas is hot, but I just don’t see an upset right now. Minnesota has enough star power to knock Jerry Jones’ crew. It’s going to be close…maybe a Farve Comeback? But don’t be surprised if this game is done with some change left in the 4th quarter.
