Our final match up features Rookie Quarterback Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets taking on a very hot San Diego Chargers. The Chargers have won 11 straight games behind Phillip Rivers and crew. Can San Diego keep the hot streak going over the possible Cinderella Story Jets?
How the Jets will win: Don’t make Sanchez be the major factor of the game. The Jets have the number one rushing attack and the number one defense. If the Jets can use their weapons in the right places, this could be a possible upset. Look for the Darrelle Revis match up on Vincent Jackson. Revis has knocked off many wide receivers off their game. Can he keep it up?
How the Chargers will win: Put the ball in Rivers’ hands and let him lead the team. The emotional ride will help the Chargers go to a 12th straight win and a trip to the AFC title game. Also, look for the Chargers to try to pressure Sanchez to throw the ball and make rookie mistakes.
The True Factor: Rex Ryan’s Offensive Scheme. Will he let Sanchez throw the ball or follow the plan hat worked last week. My guess is stick to what’s working, but if the Chargers are able to shut down the rushing game, this could be trouble for New York.
Prediction: This is a tough one. It should be an easy pick for San Diego to win, but you never know with these pesky Jets. I think San Diego will win this one, but I wont be surprised if New York pulls the upset. Mark Sanchez is a true rookie with his struggles, but there’s truly something special about him. I can see New York being in the playoffs years to come, but it will take time. Look for a good game in San Diego.
CHARGERS 21, JETS 13.
