The Road to Miami Begins...

By Ryan Foray
17 Weeks have come and gone, and the NFL regular season has come to a close. Now the march to Land Shark Stadium begins for 12 teams.
The NFL Playoffs begin this weekend with the Wild Card Round. Three of the four matches being rematches from Week 17; The Cincinnati Bengals and the New York Jets, The Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys, and the Green Bay Packers and the Arizona Cardinals; The Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots are a rematch from Week 4.
The term “lightning never strikes twice” seems to play in favor of those who lost last week. In the current playoff setup, a rematch from Week 17 to Wild Card Weekend has happened only nine times. Only 4 times has a team won both games.
That might be questioned after this week’s overall performance of the losing squads. All three games were blowouts (Jets 37-0, Cowboys 24-0, and the Packers 33-7).
