Super Bowl Preview...

By Ryan Foray

Before I get into details about tomorrow, let be congratulate the Hall of Fame Class of 2010, which is highlighted with Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith. Both are highly classy men that the writers knew would be shoe-ins to be first time ballot winners. Now onward to the Preview….
It’s finally time for the final game of the season…officially.
32 teams started in Training Camps and now tomorrow it comes down to two teams. The Top Seeds from both Conferences. It’s the Showdown in Miami.
The Colts vs. The Saints.
This has been the dream match that began to unfold when both Indianapolis and New Orleans started the season 13-0. Questions began to arise if the match-up would really happen with the Saints losing two straight, as well as the Colts resting players in the final two weeks, with some people thinking “playtime rust” would hit Manning and the high powered offense.
Thanks to Peyton and crew stopping the jets Cinderella run and Brett Favre’s gift, we don’t have to question the possibility anymore. All that will be answered tomorrow is who will be the top dog in the league.
On one side you have Indianapolis: a high powered offense that has rookie Coach Jim Caldwell receiving rave reviews, including his former mentor and former head coach Tony Dungy. The Colts won it all three years ago in the Sunshine State against the Bears, and many of the Colts players are looking for their second ring. With the win, Manning will be one of the few quarterbacks to win multiple Super Bowls.
Coming from the NFC is the Saints: A team that was almost shunned out of the Big Easy by one of the biggest natural disasters to hit American soil. The Superdome had nothing but images of the homeless, hurt, and dead all through the stadium as New Orleans tried to clean up the devastation Hurricane Katrina left. Now the Saints have unfolded the “Aints” character and find themselves in their first Super Bowl in franchise history. With a win on Super Sunday, Drew Brees will have the official legitimacy of being an elite Quarterback.
Prediction: I think this will be one of the best SB games to be played. This game will have the two best QB’s in the game today playing so look for both defenses to have various schemes in order to stop the monster passing games. I think it will come down to who will have the healthier guys and who will show the most heart.
SAINTS 34, COLTS 31
I have to pick the Saints. They just have the heart to win this game. I fell that they are seen as big time underdogs, probably more than the Giants were a few years ago. I just feel there needs to be a happy ending for this New Orleans Story. I wouldn’t be surprised for two things happening tomorrow
a.) A Huge Touchdown Return by Reggie Bush
b.) Archie Manning cracking a smile if Drew Brees is hosting up the Lombardi Trophy.
