It's official out of the NFL offices and straight from Rodger Goodell's power.
Ben Roethlisberger is suspended for six games for the start of the 2010 NFL season.
This means that more than likely (unless otherwise noted) Charlie Batch or Byron Leftwich will behind the center when the Steelers open up against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1.
This comes off the heels of Pittsburgh trading away Santonio Holmes to the Jets. Holmes has been suspended for the first four games of next season for his actions during the offseason.
My how the mighty have fallen.
Congratulations to Big Ben, you are now part of what we call "the snowball effect".
It started when you decided it would be smart to ride a motorcycle without something you wear every week during your profession - a helmet.
Then you find it obligated to go out and put yourself in what we call a bad situation.
It's one thing to go out and enjoy a few drinks with locals and your closest friends, but when you are at a bar and there are female who are college aged and/or not even 21... this is where the filter in your mind should go bad idea.
News Flash to #7 -- You are not at Miami (Ohio) anymore.
Now the snowball has grown to a medium size and to a large size with the suspension.
It shall grow to a base of a snowman if the Steelers miss the playoffs.
Lets just say this...if January comes around and the playoff teams in the AFC do not include the Pittsburgh Steelers, don't second guess Roethlisberger and his avalanche of problems not be in the uniform of the Black and Gold.
