Today's weather here in downtown Richmond seem to symbolize exactly what we might see tonight for Game 6 of the NBA Finals as the dark storm clouds roll by; Expect the Unexpected and never assume.
As the countdown to tip-off in South Beach continue, there are many stories, sub-plots, and questions that have risen since the buzzer hit zero for Game 5.
What's the health status for Wade?
Can Lebron be clutch in the 4th?
Can Dirk continue to carry the extra load for the Mavs?
Can Dirk's supporting cast come up big once again like it did in the final minutes?
These are just the few topics that have been brought up by everyone who has kept up with this series. Lets me just state this about what needs to happen tonight.
This game is Do or Die for the Dallas Mavericks.
Sure, there is still a possibility for a Game 7 win even if Dallas does drop this game, but remember both games are in Miami. Can you imagine what the momentum swing would be like if Miami were to win tonight? South Beach would have one of the biggest block parties leading up to game seven. Dirk Nowitzki knows that tonight is now or never. The 13 year veteran still has the 2006 Finals still fresh in his memory. Letting Game 6 go tonight would be more deflatable that losing the 2-0 series lead five years ago. The simple fact that Number 41 knows how close he, Terry, Kidd, and the rest of the Mavericks Roster are to bringing home the Larry O'Brien Trophy home, with a ticket parade and no more questions about whether or not Nowitzski can lead a team on his own.
No matter what happens tonight, this series has been one of the best NBA finals in recent memory. As for Dallas Fans, they know its "Dirk or Die"..."Now-itski or never-itski"
