Jets Fumes Run Empty...

By Ryan Foray
The New York Jets should not feel like this season was a failure.
Rookie Coach Rex Ryan and Rookie Quarterback Mark Sanchez passed all expectations by getting the Jets to the AFC title game, its first appearance since 1998. The Jets, who were all but out of the playoff hunt almost 4 weeks ago, shocked the world by not only making it to the playoffs, but defeating the Bengals and the Chargers along the way, two division winners that many had on paper as possible Super Bowl Winners.
The Indianapolis Colts were pushed almost to the limit against the number one defense in the league, but miscues by the Jets’ secondary and two long missed field goals by Jay Feeley are making the Jets watch the big game as fans and not on the sidelines.
I do think however that this will not be the last time the Jets are going to be in the mix. Next season the Jets will play the same rugged defense they have played all season. Mark Sanchez will be more comfortable in the starting position, so do not be surprised if the Jets pull off ten wins next season.
It’s hard to preview how the Jets will be next season, but it will be rest assured that Fireman Ed will have many happy chants flying through the new Giants Stadium.
“J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS.”
